Beach Breaks on the Costa Blanca: Top Beaches to Bronze that Bod

With over 5000 miles of coastline, it’s no wonder Spain is a true hit with holidaymakers from all over the world. Brits love it, heading to the mainland year after year to get their dose of Spanish sun, sea and sangria.

Regardless of the destination you choose, you can be sure that with cheap flights, you don’t need to worry about breaking open the piggy bank. The Costa Blanca, or the White Coast, is particularly popular with British tourists seeking their own piece of Spanish paradise and with umpteen beaches to sample in the area, you’ll have a veritable field day. From Alicante to Benidorm, you can bronze your beach bod on some of the finest beaches in the area – here’s our top four.

  • Playa de la Levante, Benidorm – with 2km of golden sand, Blue Flag status and within easy reach of the town centre, it’s no wonder this beach is heaving with sun-worshippers during the summer months. Watersports are available, as is the rental of sun loungers and parasols so that you have a bit of shade for when you need to cool yourself down.
  • Playa de Poniente, Benidorm – 3km of beach and situated next to Park Elche, this beach is a great alternative if you’re after somewhere a little less crowded.
  • San Juan de Alicante, Alicante – some say that this beach is the best in the Alicante region and is absolutely massive. Stretching for 7km, it’s got the Blue Flag status and plenty of facilities to keep everybody occupied.
  • El Paradis beach, Villajoyosa – This quaint resort, a little south of Benidorm, would be ideal if you fancied a day out. The 1km of beach boasts the Blue Flag award and is ideal if you want to visit somewhere different for the day.

Whichever beach you choose to while away the hours on, don’t forget the suncream!
